IGEX GLONASS Campaign
As a collaborative effort between ACRI, the CNRS-Géoscience Azur,
and the Observatoire de la Côte d’Azur, we will operate a GLONASS
receiver at the permanent IGS station GRAS at Caussols in the department
Alpes-Maritimes, France, during the IGEX Campaign, and observe a subset
of GLONASS satellties by the Lunar Laser Ranging Station at the same site.
Observing Site
The observing site, named GRAC, is located at the facility of the Centre
d’Etudes et de Recherches Géodynamiques et Astroométriques
(CERGA) of the Observatoire de la Cote d’Azur on the plateau of Calern
in sout- eastern France. This facility currently includes a Lunar Laser
Ranging Station and the permanent GPS station GRAS (43.90o N, 6.92o E)
which has known ITRF coordinates. The existing facilities make it possible
to operate a GLONASS receiver on a routine basis.
GLONASS Receiver and Antenna
We are operating a single frequency GLONASS receiver at site GRAC.
The receiver is a MARTEC Mira 24 receiver, which contains an Ashtech
GG24 OEM board. It has 12 L1 GPS code and phase channels, and 12 L1 GLONASS
code and phase channels, on loan by MARTEC.
The antenna is a single frequency GPS/GLONASS antenna. It is
deployed on a concrete pillar less than 100 meters from the existing GPS
antenna.
