Processing Notes
Please note that refining the processing methodology
is one of the objectives of the research, and is thus currently in a state
of flux. Differences in processing methodology may lead to a bias on the
order of 6 mm and rms on the order of 10 mm zenith tropospheric delay (ZTD)
for standard quality GPS data, and a factor of 5 more for GPS data of less
reliable quality. We issue the warning that the ZTD
data time series may be reprocessed at any time
producing time series that may easily be different (by approximately the
amount stated above) from previous versions of the dataset. A final stable
version of the dataset will be available before June 2000.
The data is processed in three subnetworks
-
subnet1 = stations in France plus the IGS stations
-
subnet2 = stations in Italy plus the IGS stations
-
subnet3 = stations in Spain plus the IGS stations.
Several estimates of the IGS station tropospheric
delay provides a means for monitoring the consistency of the subnetwork
solutions. These solutions may also be compared with solutions from other
processing centers, for example the IEEC
processing center which is also participating in the MAGIC project,
and the ASI
data processing center.
Future Versions of the Archive
The future MAGIC GPS WV Archive will contain time
series of
-
zenith tropospheric delay gradient for some stations,
-
integrated water vapor for some stations.
covering the duration of the MAGIC project (3 years).
