Decisions

WP2100 (user requirements, EQ-VO disaster response in Iceland

Solveig Thorvaldsdottir and Agust Gunnar Gylfason would like to document the two successful case studies in Iceland a subglacial eruption in 1996 and the eruption of Hekla in 2000. I suggested that EOS, published as a newsletter by the American Geophysical Union, might be appropriate.

WP 4310 (CGPS observations in Azores)

CVUA will deploy 2 CGPS receivers to be purchased with RETINA funds on San Miguel, focussing on volcanic activity rather than landslides.

Antonio Trotoa of CVUA will lead this WP in consultation with Paul Tregoning and Kurt Feigl

WP 4320 (INSAR feasibility in Azores)

The Lisbon group (Miguel Miranda, jmiranda@fc.ul.pt, João Carlos da Costa Catalão Fernandes mjoao@fc.ul.pt ? and their student (Christina Catitia, ccatita@fc.ul.pt) Catherina???) has already processed most of the available ERS data for Pico and Terceira Islands. They obtain fringes in some places over several months, including the 1998 earthquake. They will continue this work in consultation with Kurt Feigl, acknowledging the RETINA project in their publications.
